The technological trends transforming mobility have also changed the bus. On the digital front, apps for planning, paying and tracking vehicles in real time, along with increasingly effective fleet management systems. On the vehicle side, cleaner, quieter and more comfortable means of transport. On the infrastructure front, dedicated lanes and traffic light priority make the service more regular and faster. Much remains to be done, but the bus has a future ahead of it.
