The Innovation District is a special project of IBE Intermobility Future Ways, that adds value to the latest innovations and incentives in shared sustainable mobility
A prestigious exhibition area created to give a voice to innovators and tell the success stories of innovative Start-Ups. This space promotes collaboration between large companies, institutions and opinion leaders, creating connections that foster dialogue and synergies between industry players, nationally and internationally.
The initiative is organised by Italian Exhibition Group with the support of the Foundation for Sustainable Development, EIT Urban Mobility, Tecnopolo di Rimini, and ANGI (National Association of Young Innovators) as the main partner.

Goals
- To offer new entrepreneurial realities wide national and international visibility where to create exchanges and share ideas: the perfect environment where tradition and innovation meet;
- To create meeting opportunities between the companies and buyers attending the event and the Startups that by attitude can foster product and/or service innovation;
- To give voice to the best innovators by collecting their testimonies and promote in terms of development, culture and skills in the major issues of sustainable mobility.
Target Audience & Admission Criteria
Start-ups and SMEs registered in the Business Register and listed in the special section for innovative start-ups (as per Law no. 221 of December 18, 2012) may apply, provided they meet the following minimum criteria:
Development of technologies and solutions aligned with the themes of IBE Intermobility Future Ways:
- Components/accessories/spare parts
- Bus manufacturers/bodybuilders
- Software
- Soft mobility/car sharing
- MAAS Applications/ticketing
- On-board components
- Workshop equipment & service areas
- E-mobility
- Road Safety & Traffic Management
Be active in the B2B market and have a website and/or promotional materials in English.
Selected start-ups and innovative SMEs may participate upon payment of an administrative fee of €500 plus VAT.
Please Note: the admission and scheduling of start-ups will be managed at the discretion of the project management team, organised by IEG in collaboration with its partners, based on the specified requirements and availability of space.
How to apply
Start-ups meeting the eligibility criteria outlined above may submit their application form by 19 July 2026 by completing and submitting the dedicated online form, and providing consent for the processing of the data included in the application.
Application Evaluation
At the close of the application period, the organisation will carry out a formal check to ensure that the submitted projects meet the minimum requirements. Subsequently, a specially appointed evaluation committee will examine all eligible applications, awarding each project a score of 1 to 10 based on the following criteria:
- the business potential of the idea;
- the stage of development of the product/service;
- degree of innovation and defensibility of the idea;
- team skills;
- competitive environment and positioning;
- alignment with market and customer needs and market size;
- impact of the project on future challenges
In order to support younger companies and those in the early stages of development, start-ups may be awarded an additional score of up to +1 compared to innovative SMEs. In the event of a tie in the overall score, priority will be given to start-ups.
At the end of the evaluation phase, all candidates will receive an official notification from Italian Exhibition Group, sent to the email address provided during the application process, containing the outcome – positive or negative – of the selection process.
Evaluation Committee
Applications received that meet the requirements outlined in the call text will be evaluated by an evaluation committee composed of IEG, the Foundation for Sustainable Development, the Rimini Technopole, selected members of the Intermobility Community, and the initiative’s partner network.
Formalization phase
Selected candidates must confirm their participation within two working days of receiving the official notification, by replying via email. If no reply is received within the specified timeframe, the application will be deemed withdrawn. Following confirmation, successful applicants will receive the registration form (contract), which must be returned duly completed, signed and stamped, together with the following documentation:
- proof of payment of the participation fee via bank transfer;
- an up-to-date Chamber of Commerce certificate (mandatory only for Innovative SMEs);
- high-definition logo in vector format (preferably .ai, .svg or .eps).
Should one or more selected applicants withdraw, Italian Exhibition Group, in agreement with the initiative’s partners, will proceed to move down the ranking list, admitting further eligible candidates.
Included Services
The initiative allows selected start-ups and scale-ups to take part in the event with a special package that includes a desk and all the services listed below, for a registration fee of just €500. Out-of-pocket expenses (travel, accommodation, transport, etc.) are excluded and must be covered by the participants.
The services offered are:
- All-Inclusive Start-Up Package: fully equipped exhibition space, including a desk, stool and logo graphics
- Registration fee and access to the event as official exhibitors included
- Listing in the event’s digital catalogue
- Online visibility: presence on a dedicated web page on the official IBE Intermobility Future Ways website
- 1 complimentary outdoor parking pass
- 2 stand staff passes
- Dedicated Info Point: welcome and information on the start-ups present in the Innovation District
- Media coverage: promotional services at national and international level
Please note: it should be noted that, in addition to the registration fee, all out-of-pocket expenses, such as travel, accommodation and transport, remain the responsibility of the participants.
