IEG, IBE DRIVING EXPERIENCE CONFIRMS ITSELF AS A UNIQUE AND REFERENCE EVENT FOR THE BUS INDUSTRY

· The biennial event by Italian Exhibition Group concluded on Wednesday 22 October at the Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli;
· Drivers and industry operators tested on track the latest-generation vehicles from the main international players;
· Numerous topics were addressed during the conferences: from the round table on safety with Start Romagna and ASSTRA to the Deep Trend® insights on the future of collective transport.

Rimini, 23 October 2025 – The fourth edition of IBE Driving Experience, the biennial event organized by Italian Exhibition Group (IEG), came to a close on 21 and 22 October at the Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli in Misano Adriatico, bringing together the entire public and private passenger transport supply chain.

The results of the previous edition have been confirmed, with professionals, companies, international manufacturers, and associations recognizing the event as a qualified and benchmark platform for networking and hands-on testing.

TEST DRIVES AND TECHNOLOGY ON TRACK

On 22 October, professional drivers had the opportunity to test the latest-generation vehicles offered by the main international players on the track of the Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli, one of the world’s iconic motorsport venues.

A truly distinctive experience that makes IBE Driving Experience a unique event, where technology meets practice and training is transformed into direct driving experience.

THE COMPANIES AT IBE DRIVING EXPERIENCE 2025

At IBE Driving Experience, Volvo Buses presented two new features: the Volvo 9700 DD double-decker in its new 13-metre version, available for the first time in this configuration, featuring a more efficient engine and a 9% fuel saving. In addition, thanks to the agreement signed between Volvo Buses and Marcopolo — the Brazilian bodywork manufacturer and one of the world leaders — for the distribution of its models in Europe, the Paradiso 1200 of the G8 generation was showcased for the first time in a European exhibition after its debut at Busworld Brussels.

Also present were: Otokar with the electric e-TERRITO U and the versatile NAVIGO T; IVECO BUS with four models — Evadys, Crossway LE City Electric, Crossway NF CNG mild hybrid, and the 32-seat electric Daily for school transport; Dierre Dimensione Ricambi, exclusive distributor of King Long, introducing the new MU12E and C12E electric buses to Italy; Gruppo D’Auria with Furore, the minibus representing excellence in tourist transport in the 30-seat segment; Scania with the Touring range; and Irizar with the i6S 12.37 Integral HDH, customised for the occasion by Pico Wrapping with a special IBE2026 livery. Also showcased were the latest technological solutions from Topfly, Golia360, and Keep in Touch.

Participating at the event were also companies from the components, spare parts, and services sectors, including ZF, Tecnoidro, DMS, Buggy114, Grafibus, and Autogrill.

THE TOPIC OF SAFETY IN PUBLIC MOBILITY

The second day opened at the Simoncelli Circuit with the round table “Safety in Public Mobility: Synergies Between Rules and Culture,” organized by Start Romagna and ASSTRA.
The first session, titled “Safety and Legality on Board: Clear Rules, a Culture Yet to Build,” featured institutional representatives and law enforcement agencies. The second session, curated by ASSTRA, showcased the best safety practices implemented by AMT Genova, ATV Verona, and EAV Campania.

These experiences highlighted the crucial role of training, institutional dialogue, and organizational models in improving safety on public transport vehicles and at stops.
The co-organization by Start Romagna and ASSTRA underscores the synergy between local and national dimensions at the core of the IBE model, which — by enhancing the expertise developed in the Romagna region — facilitates the dissemination of best practices and shared policies.

THE CONTRIBUTION OF AN.BTI – CONFCOMMERCIO

Misano also hosted the General Assembly of AN.BTI – Confcommercio, the Italian National Association of Tourist Coaches, which chose IBE Driving Experience as the venue to discuss crucial dynamics for the future of the sector.
AN.BTI – Confcommercio also launched its new bus travel safety campaign “BuSIcuri: pronti a partire!” (“BuSIcuri: ready to go!”) in preview from Misano, ahead of its official launch on 25 November at Confcommercio’s Rome headquarters during a dedicated event.

THE DEEP TREND® MASTERCLASS AND THREE KEY CHALLENGES FOR THE FUTURE

During the Mobility Masterclass conducted by Laura Rolle of Blue Eggs, the challenges identified through the application of Blue Eggs’ Deep Trend® analysis to the mobility sector — based on socio-semiotic studies of collective imagination — were outlined as those the industry will have to address in the coming years.

The session focused on three key areas:
· redefining travel time as an experience;
· a concept of sustainability that also includes the social dimension;
· the central role of the driver in the era of artificial intelligence.
