Veronica Sgarra

Head of Technological Innovations Department, Asstra - Italian Public Transport Association

Veronica Sgarra, PhD in Infrastructure and Transport Engineering and graduated in Architecture from Sapienza University of Rome, has more than 15 years of experience in the fields of transportation, technological innovation, and sustainable mobility. She is currently Head of the Technology Innovation Department at Asstra – the Italian Public Transport Association. In this role, she coordinates several working groups, contributes to international research projects, and develops specialized training programs for public transport company stakeholders. Her career includes over a decade as a Research Fellow in Transport Engineering at Sapienza University of Rome, where she carried out extensive research activities. Over the years, she has built a multidisciplinary background including architectural and infrastructure design as well as road safety. She is the author and co-author of several publications on sustainable mobility, transport safety, and mobility systems.
